ONNI Group’s Gilmore Place development in Burnaby, BC will include Metro Vancouver’s tallest tower, a 700 foot tall, 64 Story Landmark Tower with 643 homes. The first phase of this development will also include a 51 Story Tower and a 43 Story Tower with a combined total of 920 homes. Once phase 1 and 2 are complete, Gilmore Place will have about 3,500 homes spread over 2.7 million Sqft of residential floor area and 450,000 Sqft of retail space within a total of Seven Towers.
In January, 2020, Cairns Electric Ltd was awarded the Phase 1 electrical scope of the first 3 towers which includes: Main Incoming service: (1) 25kV, 600A service from BC Hydro which will be distributed to the Towers. Generators consists of (2) - 1 MW Generators and (1) 2 - MW Generator and associated distribution. Fire Alarm System will be a fully addressable system that is connected to the Parkade, Podium, Retail and Towers combined. Cairns Electric will also be providing the infrastructure for the Low Voltage Systems such as Data, Communication, Security, DAS & WAP. The project completion is anticipated to be January 27, 2025. Cairns Electric will be a key player laying the basis upon which the future phase will be built.
