On August 10th 2018, OZZ Electric was awarded the West Park Healthcare Centre Project with design build partners EllisDon & MBII. WPHC provides specialized rehabilitation; complex continuing care, long-term care and community health services helping individuals with lung disease, diabetes, stroke, amputation and musculoskeletal issues. Since the award, the OZZ management team has been working with our design build partners, trade partners, and vendors on a fully compliant PSOS design that meets requirements of WPHC while managing the construction activities as the design evolves.
Construction is moving quickly as this P3 design build project has an aggressive schedule with a substantial performance date of February 28th 2023. OZZ Electric has been moving rapidly across the six floors of the inpatient north and south buildings installing rough-ins of all major systems, (lighting, normal power, emergency power, UPS power, fire alarm, nurse call, security, cable tray/structured cabling, audio visual, clocks,) while simultaneously installing rough-ins in the three levels (P3-P2-P1) of the outpatient building parking garage. All four 1500Kw stand-by generators were delivered and placed on both north and south penthouses at the end of May and the major emergency distribution switchboards arrived this month and were installed in the penthouse substation electrical rooms.
Major IPS distribution equipment for all satellite electric rooms are arriving over the course the next few months along with light fixtures as ceiling grids begin to be installed. The high voltage GIS switchgear is slated to arrive from Germany in October 2021. Manpower will be ramping up to meet the demands of this project as we continue to execute and deliver this one of a kind healthcare centre for the Province of Ontario. More exciting news to come!
